Danny Madigan knows all the first three Jack Slater movies in and out. The fourth one is just about to be released too, and with a magical ticket, Danny really gets to know that movie in and out too, literaly speaking. During one of the action climaxes, Danny is transported into the movie, into a world following other rules than the real one. Benedict, one of the evil guys, gets hold of the ticket and escapes out to the real world, a world where evil guys can actually win. Danny and Jack follow him back to the real world to get back the ticket and stop Benedict from killing Arnold Schwarzenegger. This is the story of young Danny Madigan, who is a huge fan of Jack Slater, a larger-than-life action hero played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. When his best friend, Nick the projectionist, gives him a magic ticket to the newest Jack Slater film, Danny is transported into Slater's world, his number one hero where the good guys always win. It's a dream come true for Danny, but things take a turn for the worse when one of Slater's enemies, Benedict the hitman, gets a hold of the ticket and ends up in Danny's world, where he realizes that if he can kill Arnold Schwarzenegger, then Slater will be no more. Slater and Danny must join forces and travel back and stop him at all costs before it'll be the end of Jack Slater. Minor Spoilers present: The Last Action Here has made it difficult for Arnold to be taken seriously, as it exposed all the flaws his movies had ever had. This was not an action movie, it was a farce, if not full satire. The hard-rock music playing in the car, for instance, turns out be Arnold just playing music on his car stereo. His overuse of Jack Slater's trademark line "Big Mistake" and his clear force of "I'll Be Back" poke fun at his longtime association with the phrase "I'll Be Back" as well as "Trust Me" and the Terminator 2 exclusive "Hasta La Vista, Baby." One error was the fact that the movie was supposedly the fourth in the Jack Slater series, though Arnold has never even a third of any movie. He has always stopped at sequels. However, that will change if Terminator 3 happens, which looks to be potentially devastating to Arnold's suddenly fragile career. This movie entertained me, but it really damaged Arnold's image. Also, when the actual Arnold interacted with Jack, it made Arnold look like a jerk. His stock fell far after this film, as it was at probably an all-time high after Terminator 2. This movie turned his career into a joke, and combined with the ill-advised Junior, turned him into a novelty act. People automatically hate his more recent work, such as Collateral Damage, when they would have loved it had it come out 10 years earlier. That said, I do not dislike this movie, I enjoyed it, and would recommend it to anyone who wants to watch a light action-comedy. F. Murray Abraham puzzled me by performing in this, however, despite his great skill, he didn't exactly have people knocking out his door. Arnold played a caricature of himself, which is more difficult than you might think. People usually did not see this, only choosing to see intentional plot holes, but ignore their cleverness. One interesting facet of this is allowed them to have the ultimate in movie conveniences, and instead of being an example of poor writing and direction, its clever. Unfortunately, the cleverness made most people miss it, thinking it was, you guessed it, poor writing and direction. Its unfortunate that this movie caused the problems it did, for Arnold, and for the Arnold fan, namely me. People blind themselves now by seeing all Schwarzenegger movies as "Jack Slater 4" and no longer allow themselves to observe actual good film-making, such as The Terminator, Total Recall, and End of Days. Overall 7.5/10 I remember when Last Action Hero came out. I wanted to see it because it looked like it couldnt miss. I even enjoyed it when I first saw it but bottom line is that this movie is a dud. Arnold plays himself but mainly a matinee action star who is idolized by a nerdy kid. The kid is a movie buff and goes to the movies instead of school. One day he gets a magic ticket which transports him into one of Arnold's alter ego's movie. But, Danny's ticket magically transports Danny into the movie and meets the film's fictional title character Jack Slater (Arnold Schwarzenegger) a larger than life Los Angeles police detective and Danny joins Jack, as Jack sets out to settle a score with Mr. Benedict (Charles Dance), the right hand man of mob boss Tony Vivaldi (Anthony Quinn), whom tortured and killed Jack's cousin Frank (Art Carney). But, Benedict takes possession of Danny's ticket and enters the real world and Danny and Jack leave the film to go after him and Danny and Jack set out to stop Benedict from assassinating Schwarzenegger at the film's premiere in New York City, which Benedict believes, if Schwarzenegger dies, there will be no more Jack Slater films. The word was most likely "fuck".<br/><br/>In movies rated PG-13, films are only allowed to use that particular word or a variant of it once. Twice on rare occasions, depending on context; such as the movie Lakeview Terrace or The Martian. It also could have been "Mother-Fucker" as that variant hasn't been spoken in a PG-13 film.
